Stanley Cup Final Primer

Nashville Predators vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Penguins aim for back-to-back titles, Predators make Finals debut after 18 years

By Gabe Dupont

LAS VEGAS --- It's time for some championship action, on ice and hardwood. It all begins Monday night in Pittsburgh, where the Penguins (48-53) begin defense of their title, looking to become the first team since the Detroit Red Wings in 1997-98 to win consecutive Stanley Cups.

Meanwhile, the feisty Nashville Predators (51-47) will try to bring home the Cup in its first try in this round. The Preds advanced to their first Stanley Cup Final in the franchise's 18-year history.

The Penguins, who won the Cup in 1991, 1992 and 2009, took last year's trophy to Steeltown after toppling the Western Conference champion San Jose Sharks.

As of 1 p.m. pacific on Sunday, Pittsburgh was -165, with Nashville installed as a +145 underdog. The puck line finds the Penguins -1', +185, while the Preds are +1', -220.

The total is currently 5' goals, with the Under favored at -140. Those liking the Over will be pleased with a +120 price.

The Penguins are -160  to win the series, with the Predators bringing a come-back price of +140 into Monday's series-opener.

With the series opening in Pittsburgh, make note the Penguins are 25-26 at home this season, while the Predators are an impressive 29-20 while ordering room service. Dating back, Pittsburgh has won 63 of 84 at home. The teams split the regular season series, each winning at home, with Nashville skating to a 5-1 victory on Oct. 22 and Pittsburgh scoring a 4-2 win on Jan. 31.

Prior to this season, the road team had won four straight meetings - Pittsburgh being three of those victors. Pittsburgh has won eight of the last 10 meetings overall, and four of the last five in Steeltown.

The Penguins, who are 5-0 after at least three days rest, are 31-47 when played on the puck line, and 8-10 when laying a price between 151-175.

The Predators are 27-9 as a puck line pup, and have not been an underdog this big this season. They head into the Stanley Cup Finals having won 12 of their last 16, but also entered the postseason losing four of their last five against Eastern Conference opponents.

When installed as the favorite, Pittsburgh has gone over in 45 of 73 games, while the Predators are 15-16 Over when listed as an underdog.

Entering the postseason, Nashville had stayed under in four straight games against Eastern Conference teams.

The Penguins, who are on a 6-2 run in the Stanley Cup Finals, are on an 8-1 Under run in Stanley Cup Final contests. They're also on an 8-3-2 Under run at home.

My last release was May 16, and it was a winner on the Nashville Predators. I've now won six of my last nine releases in the NHL, and I'm prepared to deliver in every game of the Stanley Cup Final, between the Predators and defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins.

It may be a total, it could be a side, but one way or another, I plan on closing out this season strong, with action in every game being played. And I want you aboard for the winner.

With Game 1, I want you on the total with me. I see it as the only one way to go with this game, as I look for my seventh 50 Dimer winner in 10 releases.

DO NOT MISS THIS OVER/UNDER

I see supreme value in this price, and I feel you cannot afford to miss this total.

Now look, since June of last year, I've released just 10 totals in all sports, and yes I've split them, going 5-5. But overall since being a part of this company, I've released 37 totals, and I'm 26-11 with all Over/Unders.

There is only thing worth playing with this game, and it is the total...

Gabriel Dupont's Rating System

With rare exceptions, a 100 Dime release is a maximum wager play.

I think the key for you - my follower - is to know that up front so you then have a simple money management system to adhere to for your own personal wagering scale if you choose to follow my selections.

The amount that you bet is obviously determined on the number of dollars you've allocated to your bankroll for a given day.

With a 100 Dime Max Wager, my ratings and personal bankroll allocations are easy to figure out on a proportional 5 dime incremental scale.

Listen, when I'm winning, I'm going to press the action. It's how you made a good bankrolls better. If I'm losing, you'll know because I'll be backing off the accelerator a bit.

This isn't complicated and the bottom line is that win or lose you're going to see the results from the previous day discussed when the sun shines the next morning because total transparency is demanded at this site, which is no problem for me personally because it's how I've always operated in this business.
